What is holding your ministry back? What are things that might be keeping you and your ministry from God’s best and blessing?
Working beside and for various leaders has continued to give me reflections and insights on leadership- negative and positive. There are particular things I have personally witnessed working at a variety of churches.
I have been challenged personally to look deeply and closely in my own mirror of leadership.
Even as I continue to study and read about leadership, I see common threads and ideas that continue to weave their way through narratives over and over again. Even in the Bible, key personal things seem to have held back leaders.
On a very honest level, here are ten things I have identified organizationally and Biblically that PERSONALLY hold back leaders and even worse, hold back ministries from moving forward.
- Personal Pride (Prov. 16:18)
- Personal Insecurities (Phil. 4:6-9)
- Personal Purity (Titus 1:15)
- Personal Preferences (John 3:30)
- Personal Past (Is. 43:18-19)
- Personal Ambitions (Matt. 6:33)
- Personal Relationship with Your Family (Titus 1:5-6)
- Personal Relationship with Your Spouse (Eph. 5:25)
- Personal Ministry Experiences (Rom. 5:1-5)
- Personal Spiritual Life (Acts 20:28)
