Better Media Presentations When Teaching
1. Keep It Simple.
Fewer words per slide = more attention on you. Aim for no more than 6–8 words per line.
2. High-Contrast Text.
Light text on dark background or dark text on light background—never “church grey on slightly lighter grey.”
3. Use Images to Tell the Story.
One strong, relevant image beats a busy collage. Make it memorable, not distracting.
4. Limit Animation.
A simple fade-in works. Wacky spins and bounces? Great for kids’ cartoons, not your sermon.
5. Test Before You Teach.
Check fonts, videos, and audio on the actual screen you’ll use—your laptop preview lies.
Pro Tip: Think billboard, not textbook. Your slides should support your message, not be your message. If the tech dies, you should still be able to teach without missing a beat.
