January Youth Ministry Hilarious Holidays

The new year is finally here.  2023 has arrived, and it is a perfect time to change things up a bit in your youth ministry by making “every week special“.

There is a variety of ways to do this (click here).  One easy way is to celebrate what we call in our ministry “Hilarious Holidays.”  The first week of each month, we have been and will continue to in the new year, share some ideas as a quick Hint/Help.  Here are some for January, listed for Sundays and Wednesdays.  Enjoy!

• 11th: National Milk Day: A saw horse, a rubber glove, and some milk… you have a cow milking contest!
• 15th: National Hat Day: Everyone wears their favorite and craziest headwear to church!
• 18th: National Gourmet Coffee Day: Coffee bar night along with a “Some Fresh Roasted Trivia.” 
• 22nd: National Hot Sauce Day: Hot One Challenge, the One Chip Challenge, and the list can go on!
• 25th: National Opposite Day: Run your night in reverse, have everyone wear their clothes backward, and do everything the opposite!
• 29th: Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day! Get a giant roll of bubble wrap and let the good times just happen!

Other Great Holidays that don’t land on a Sunday or Wednesday but could make great Hilarious Holidays in January:

• 10th: National House Plant Day- Everyone brings your mom’s favorite house plant to the youth group!?
• 13th: National Rubber Duckie Day-  Rubber Duckie Game Night! Dodge the rubber duckie, steal the rubber duckie, rubber duckie baseball?
• 20th: Penguin Awareness Day: Dress in black and white night?
• 21st: Squirrel Appreciation Day: Come on, this is just begging for a youth group night!
• 28th: National Kazoo Day: Kazoo Karokee, Kazoo Worship, Kazoo Boy Videos!
